The help of volunteers is always needed in the school and at school-sponsored events. Please consider using some of your time and talent to help enhance our quality program. The possibilities are endless. At Guardian Angel Academy parents play an integral role in the education of their children through the Parent Teacher Guild (PTG), athletics, fundraising activities, homeroom parents, lunchroom aides, and field trip chaperones. This partnership is invaluable to the success of our school.
The Diocese of Pittsburgh and the State of Pennsylvania require each volunteer to meet certain guidelines to assure that we are providing a safe environment for the children.
Clearances MUST be on file in the school office before any volunteer can be eligible to volunteer. Click the link below for the required clearances.
For the Virtus Online access code or if you have any questions about your clearances, please contact the school office at 412-922-4765 and speak with Mrs. O’Toole.

Please do this as soon as possible. Do not wait until you are scheduled to volunteer at the school. Many people have missed the opportunity to be involved in school events (chaperoning, coaching, homeroom parent for parties, and more) by delaying this process. We are beholden to the state for feedback on applications. We are operating on their schedules, not ours.
Any individual 18 years of age or older who would like to volunteer at Guardian Angel Academy needs to be in compliance with our Diocesan Safe Environment Policy before volunteering.
Volunteering is the lifeblood of our school and we strongly encourage all families to gift to the school/student body above the minimum expected hours of each family. Do not worry, it’s fun and there are ample volunteer opportunities to fit any schedule. Without volunteers we cannot hold events, provide athletic programs or accomplish many of our goals for the year. Each family is expected asked to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours throughout the school year (5 hours for preschool families). Each volunteer hour completed will earn that family a $10 credit with a maximum of $100 credit for K-8th and $50 credit for preschool families available toward their fundraising requirement for the 2024-2025 school year.
ALL VOLUNTEERS NEED TO HAVE UPDATED CLEARANCES. Please note, classroom activities are not counted toward volunteer hours. Most other volunteering will earn credit - Coaching, Board Members, Chairman, Event Help (Fundraisers, PTG events, Athletic events), Fundraiser Help, Cafeteria Help, etc.
ALL Volunteers MUST have all required clearances.
The Cafeteria can always use volunteers for lunch. Volunteers are needed from 10:30am - 12:30pm and must have all required clearances.
