I am honored and excited to be named the principal of Guardian Angel Academy.  I feel truly blessed to be given this opportunity to work to bring St. Philip and St. Margaret of Scotland school communities together.  I have a tremendous love and passion for Catholic Education.  I believe that in our Catholic Schools we will have the opportunity to educate the total child; academically, socially, and most importantly, spiritually.  Having the opportunity to work in a Catholic School is not a job to me, but it is my vocation.  My goal is to make our new Guardian Angel Academy truly a special place.

I come to our new school with 21 years of experience in the field of education.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I also minored in Urban Education.  I went on to earn my first Master of Science in Education degree in Instructional Technology at Duquesne University.  I achieved my second Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Westminster College.  I spent 11 years in the classroom.  I have been an administrator in our Diocese of Pittsburgh for the past 10 years, the last 4 of which were at St. Margaret of Scotland School.  I am a certified Principal (PK-12) through the state of Pennsylvania.

I believe that all our Catholic Schools in our Diocese are truly a treasure.  We will continue to work to bring our schools together and to welcome new students.  Promoting a positive school culture, communication, and integrating technology throughout the curriculum, are some of my initial goals.  I will be writing a weekly newsletter that will be sent home to families, to keep you updated on all aspects of the merger and our new school.  As part of my regular daily routine, you will see me welcoming the students in the morning in front of the school, on the playground during recess, eating lunch with our students in the Cafeteria and after school during dismissal making sure the students depart safely.  I work tirelessly to build and establish rapport with all members of our school community.  My goal has always been to be a visible principal, focused on being a spiritual and instructional leader.
